Q: WHAT IS A TANDEM EXCHANGE AND HOW DOES IT WORK?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: A language tandem is an exchange between two people who want to learn each other\u2019s language and improve their language and intercultural skills together. In the meetings, time should be divided equally between both languages.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Q: I WOULD LIKE TO PRACTISE MORE THAN ONE LANGUAGE. CAN I SIGN UP FOR MORE THAN ONE TANDEM EXCHANGE?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: No problem. Just start a new tandem search for each language you wish to practice.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: DO I NEED TO HAVE A CERTAIN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY BEFORE I START MY TANDEM?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: No, you don\u2019t need to have a specific language level, but we recommend that you have at least an A1 level in order to be able to communicate with your partner.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: CAN I SIGN UP FOR A TANDEM AT ANY POINT?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: Yes, signing up for EUniTa and starting a new tandem search is possible any time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FIND A MATCH?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: If there is a participant matching your search, then you will receive an email immediately. If not, you will have to wait until a participant matching your criteria applies for a tandem search.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: WHAT IS AN ACADEMIC TANDEM?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: To improve your academic language skills, EUniTa can match students with the same academic background. If you tick the \u2018Academic Tandem\u2019 checkbox in your tandem search, you will only be matched with a partner from your own academic field or subject.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: CAN I DO A FACE-TO-FACE TANDEM?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: Absolutely. You can choose an online or face-to-face (\u2018Internal Match\u2019<\/strong><\/strong>) tandem, or both.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Q: HOW DOES THE FIRST TANDEM MEETING WORK?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: After you\u2019ve been matched with your tandem partner, you need to contact them and suggest a time and place for your first meeting (online or in person).  For an Internal Match, also suggest a place to meet e.g. a caf\u00e9 on campus. During the first meeting you can introduce yourselves and talk about your expectations for the tandem (e.g. What would you like to improve? Do you want your partner to correct you when you speak in your target language?). You can also use the file \u2018Introduce yourself\u2019 from the EUniTa library.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Q: I HAVEN\u2019T BEEN MATCHED WITH A PARTNER YET. WHAT CAN I DO?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: Try starting a new tandem search without selecting the options \u2018Internal Match\u2019 or \u2018Academic Tandem\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: MY TANDEM PARTNER DOES NOT SHOW UP WHEN WE AGREE TO MEET. WHAT CAN I DO?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: Try to contact your tandem partner again and ask if they are still interested in the tandem. If they don’t respond, start a new tandem search.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: CAN I GET A CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION FOR MY TANDEM? IF SO, WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO RECEIVE IT?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: In order to get a certificate, you need to meet with your partner 12 times and fill in the learning documentation available on the EUniTa platform as a record of your exchange. After you\u2019ve completed all sections and uploaded this to the EUniTa platform, we\u2019ll issue the certificate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: IS EUNITA AVAILABLE ON MOBILE DEVICES?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: You can use EUniTa on mobile devices in your browser.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Q: WHAT CAN I DO WHEN I HAVE A PASSWORD OR AN ACTIVATION PROBLEM?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: Please try to reset your password using: Request reset password. If your account is not activated yet, you should get a new activation link in a new email.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: I CAN\u2019T REGISTER BECAUSE MY EMAIL IS INVALID.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer: The EUniTa platform is only accessible for students from partner universities. For the application, you can only use your official university email address.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
