1. Summary

We use cookies to operate the website and the EUniTa App, to prevent abuse, and, only with your consent, to collect anonymous usage statistics.

  • Essential. Required for operation, security, SSO flow and storing your cookie settings. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Statistics (Matomo). Anonymous reach measurement only with consent. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
  • Abuse protection (reCAPTCHA). Detects human input in forms. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Open the cookie settings to do so.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser. Persistent cookies remain until their expiry date or until you delete them.

3. Categories and legal bases

  • Essential cookies. Technically necessary to deliver pages, sign in, store your preferences and protect forms.
    Legal basis: legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Statistics cookies (Matomo). Help us understand how the site is used. IP addresses are anonymized immediately. No sharing with third parties.
    Legal basis: consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
  • reCAPTCHA. Protects against bots and spam in forms. Google analyzes signals such as IP address, time on page and mouse movements.
    Legal basis: legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Note: Matomo cookies use prefixes such as _pk_id.* and _pk_ses.*. reCAPTCHA sets several cookies depending on your browser. For Google’s current cookie list see Google’s notices.

5. Matomo web analytics

We use Matomo only with your consent. IP addresses are anonymized immediately. Cookies start with _pk_ and are stored for a maximum of 13 months. There is no transfer to third parties.

  • Give or withdraw consent in the banner
  • Additional opt-out via the Matomo opt-out widget
    (insert your Matomo opt-out widget here, for example the iframe provided by your Matomo instance).

6. Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA on relevant forms to prevent abuse. Google processes data such as IP address and usage behavior. A transfer to the USA may occur. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in website security.

7. Consent, withdrawal and settings

  • On your first visit you can Accept all, allow Essential only or Save settings.
  • Your decision is stored in the pp_box_cookie for 1 year.
  • You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. Open the Cookie settings in the footer or sidebar.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

You can delete, block or allow cookies for specific sites in your browser. See your browser help pages. If essential cookies are disabled, use may be restricted.

9. International transfers

For reCAPTCHA there may be a transfer to Google LLC in the USA. The transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. A residual risk cannot be fully excluded. All other data are processed on servers in Germany.
